![]() ![]() Insurance Co's do deny fire claims but rarely other issues unless serious injury or death has occurred. I do agree with liability but besides some poorly built decks there are very few documented cases where a homeowner was found liable for doing work on their house. Even so called pros don't follow framing and nailing schedules and this is what happens. That is some well aged wood for a 1957 house? No lath 1957? I agree with everyone saying to hire a pro to get answer regarding bearing wall or not but fact is 99% of houses of this age are rigged up a lot worse then this one. Anybody else notice the stud spacing near the fridge? Lack of nails anywhere near the splice? Look at that wiring? Not fastened anywhere? I doubt these are load bearing walls they look like a home project done 20 years ago. Looks like homeowner added the wall and wall extension as no way that would pass an inspection.
